Well, it was a long but fun weeekend. Kim Leedy, almost Garrett:), came to Austin to stay for the weekend. After a funtastic shower for Lyla Mechinus (whose poopy diaper I was honored to change) I met up with Kim and Marielle. I was excited to see them for many reasons...one being, I MISS NEAR MY OWN AGE GIRL INTERACTION!!!!! (excluding times with my wonderful sisters-in-law while pottery painting, of course). It was fun to be college girl again, if only for a few hours. I wonder if I need to give that up to become a mature mama......nah! Being the funky almost emo-Austin girl that she is, Marielle did not want us to stray from being downtown (which I wish could be our new stomping grounds, give it time) so we planned on going to the Alamo Drafthouse...an awesome doozy of a time where you can eat potato skins, drink (which of course I dont do, especially now :), and watch a movie. With much anticipation and excitement, we headed into the box office and to our dismay all the movies were sold out...we should have fandagoed.So off to kerbey lane and amy's ice cream we went where I enjoyed my usual coffee ice cream with crushed reese's peanut butter cup. The only negative thing was having to leave and go back to Salado at midnight, losing an hour, waking up at 6:45 to fix breakfast for the art students, and teach Sunday school with only a few hours of sleep. My baby dont likey!!! But after a whole Sunday afternoon of lying in bed with the windows open allowing the nice cool breeze and crisp sunlight into the room while reading the second book to a Wrinkle in Time (Madeline L'engle is the bomb!!!), i feel much better.
So as of this morning our baby is 3 inches long weighing at a waupin .09 oz. According to the 'ipregnancy' app on my phone, the babys face is looking more human like and is extremely active...but i still wont be able to feel movements which if i do they are definitely my ibs cramps talkin. And also exciting, its villi (small fingerlike projections) are forming in its intestines! I hope is develops better ones then its mommy. And even more exciting, it has created its first bile secretions! (i wonder where that goes). Well, I am just so proud of this little buger. I would post a picture, but you really wouldnt be able to see anything, except if i was nakey, which i dont want to put on the internet for many many reasons...i dont want to be the next story on Inside Edition.
Well, that's enough for me, wordy wordy me, I think I need to get out more.....TATA to you!
